Bakri Navigation Company Limited (BNC) was established in Jeddah in 1973. It is a privately owned entity with a strong management support and commitment. BNC is the “Shipping flagship” of the Bakri Group of Companies.

Immediately after its inception, and with the intention to provide an efficient service to its clients, a policy decision was taken for rapid expansion of the fleet in terms of size and the number of vessels. Then there was no looking back. This expansion fitted very well with the increased Middle East Economic output and this helped by way of turning the area to a major shipping center in the global scenario.

During the 30 years of its activity, BNC has obtained an international recognition for its services in the field of shipping and liquid transportation. Assisted by one of its subsidiary ship management company namely Red Sea Marine Services (RSMS), BNC continuously caters to the growing demand of the global market by adding more vessels, which is inclusive of new buildings.

BNC has earned the universal reputation as one of the most advanced company, in terms of technology. It will be not out of place to mention that on two different occasions, three world-renowned shipbuilding and shipping magazines namely “Marine Log” & “Maritime Reporter” from U.S. and Naval Architects in U.K. have been announcing the world’s best per each kind of vessel every end of the year after evaluating technology, design, function of all the vessels built by shipyards in the world. The Quds 45,000 DWT chemical carrier honoured by Naval Architect as the best built ship and owned by Bakri Navigation Co. Ltd. as of Feb 2000. Similarly, BNC owned vessel Boraq, 45,000 DWT Chemical carrier, built by Hyundai Ship Yard was accredited as, the best built ship as of February 2003.

The Technical and Safety Department within RSMS ensures that all safety measures of highest level are ensured as per the directives of the BNC Board.

Bakri Navigation Company’s activities include Ship owning, Chartering, Commercial operation, Ship broking, Offshore operations, Stevedoring, and Marine services. It is also heavily involved in managing container freight stations, terminal handling and depot storage where it has extensive investments. In addition to these, BNC is involved in full Port Managements of various ports in Saudi Arabia, which include but not limited to full management of Tugs, Barges, Pilots, Control Tower Port Traffic Separation Management, Port Radar Operation and Management.

BNC has close to one thousand employees both at sea and ashore, who have a strong motivation and commitment to provide value added satisfactory services.

The Human Relations Department of BNC is equipped with state of art provisions, facilities and above all, the prospective vision to develop and strive for continued improvement in all areas of responsibility relative to BNC’s tasks and goals.

BNC continues to develop port facilities in Middle East, Africa, Asia and other key cities in the World because its operational range has reached to a global level, focusing to a wide perspective of opportunities for its future growth.
